The reviews have neither been paid for nor solicited by any
company or publishing house and it is our intention to maintain
this independence into the future. The views expressed are entirely
our own, other than on the page we have set up for Adstock Book
Club where the views of Club members will be posted, with their
permission.

Who
is the bookworm?
My name is Liz; My mother tells me I wanted
to read before I wanted to walk! There are indeed photos of
me sat on my nappy-fat bottom clutching a cloth book and grinning
inanely. I
 make
my living as a Human Resources consultant and someone recently
told me in an interview that they were a ‘vociferous’
reader. Although they didn’t get the job, they did make
me realise that talking to anyone who will listen about the
book I’m reading is something I have always done –
so why not get a web site and go national or even international
to anyone who will listen!
Over the past couple of years I have had the opportunity to
judge some of the WHSmith book awards, including the Thumping
Good Read award. Harlan Coben won that year - an extraordinarily
clever and funny man; he signed a copy of his book “Liz
– you rock!”, so if you ever read one of my reviews
of his books, you might just think I am biased. I have also
read and reviewed for some publishing houses and am currently
contributing to the editing of a book which the Psychology Press
will publish later in the year.
The world of books has taken me to some extraordinary places
and has made me some of my best friends; I wish the same for
you.
